London Borough of Redbridge

Pamiętacie moją wycieczkę do Havering i Barking&Dagenham? Trzecią gminą, którą odwiedziłam tamtego dnia, była właśnie Redbridge. Nie miałam jednak zbyt wiele czasu, więc wybrałam się na krótką wizytę w lokalnym muzeum w Ilford, które ukazywało historię tego obszaru - wygląd wiktoriańskiej szkoły czy też domowych wnętrz z początku XX wieku.
Wędrując po Londynie, zauważyłam, że muzea kładą tam nacisk na interaktywność. Czy są to ekrany z grami, quizami czy filmami, czy też zwykłe klapki z pytaniami, bądź też eksponaty, które można dotknąć, takie zaplecze istnieje i sprawia wszystkim dużo frajdy. Jakże byłam zaskoczona, odkrywając, że nawet małe muzea, tak jak to w Ilford, również posiadają takie zabawki, przez co wizyta w nich staje się przyjemniejsza. Mam nadzieję, że to koniec nudnego chodzenia od gablotki do gablotki. A wy, lubicie interaktywne muzea?

Do you remember my little trip to Havering and Barking&Dagenham? The third borough I visited that day was Redbridge. I didn't have too much time so I just popped in the Museum of Redbridge in Ilford for a quick glance. The museum shows the history of that area like the classroom in Victorian school or the interior of houses in the twentieth century.
While wandering around London, I've noticed that the emphasis is put in the museums on being interactive. Doesn't matter if there are screens with games, quizzes or films, simple flaps with questions or exhibits you can touch, these things exist and provide fun and easy learning to every visitor. To my surprised, I discovered that even small museums, like the one in Ilford, have such playthings that make visits pretty amusing. I hope that's the end of boring cabinet-to-cabinet walking.
