Zanim na dobre zapanuje świąteczna atmosfera, chciałabym was dzisiaj zabrać na wycieczkę w bardzo dalekie zakątki Londynu, do Waltham Forest, gdzie Tudorowie mieli swój dom myśliwski. Początkowo został zbudowany dla Henryka VIII, żeby przyjeżdżał odpoczywać i strzelać do niewinnych jeleni, a następnie odnowiony dla jego córki - Królowej Elżbiety I. Bardzo miła pani, która mnie po tym miejscu oprowadzała, zdradziła mi w sekrecie legendę, że Królowa Elżbieta była dość częstym gościem w tych okolicach, lecz zamiast oddawać się uciechom płynącym z polowania, ona wolała ten czas oddawać swoim kochankom. Czy to prawda, tego nie wie nikt, ale plotki dobrze się sprzedają.
Before Christmas take control in here, I would like to take you for a tiny trip to the London borough of Waltham Forest, where the Tudors had their hunting lodge. It was initially built for Henry VIII so he could come there to get some rest and shoot some innocent deer. A few years later it was refurbished for his daughter, the Queen Elizabeth. A very kind lady who showed me around the place told me the secret hunch. It it said that the Queen Elizabeth was a frequent visitor in her hunting lodge. However, instead of hunting, she spent most of her free time amusing her lovers. No one knows if that's true, but gossips are so catchy.
A skoro o miłej pani mowa, to w domu jest osoba, która oprowadza i opowiada różne ciekawostki, oprócz tego są rozrywki dla dzieci - od rysowania po przebieranki w historyczne stroje!
Speaking of a nice lady, there is always a person in the house who can show around the lodge and tell some very interesting things. They provide fun for kids too - drawing or dressing up in historical costumes!
Właśnie taki widok mieli niestrudzeni myśliwi, goszczący w domu, podczas obserwacji terenu. A ten las w oddali to nie pierwszy lepszy zbiór drzew, mówi się, że powstał już w starożytności.
That's the exact view the tireless visiting hunters had while watching the deer. Can you see the forest in the distance? It's not a slapdash wood, it was created in ancient times, no kidding!
Oprócz zabawy, muzeum to też uczy, a uczy o suto zastawionych stołach podczas balang u Tudorów. Podobno jedli warzywa, owoce, mięsa i nabiał - ciekawe, czyż nie?

Oprócz domu myśliwskiego Królowej Elżbiety, gmina Waltham Forest znana jest również z domu Williama Morrisa, angielskiego artysty. W domu znajdują się różne jego prace i wygodne krzesła, których niestety nie sfotografowałam, nad czym ubolewam.
Except the hunting lodge, Waltham Forest is also known from William Morris' house. He was an English artists whose artworks are collected in that place. I mean some of his works. By the way, they have such comfortable chairs in there as well.
