Broek in Waterland, the Netherlands

What do you think of a tiny breather from my beloved London? It's not harmful and a gulp of fresh air in here will be nice. That's why I'm taking you today to the Trousers in the Land of Water. Actually, I will write about Broek in Waterland in the Netherlands but the literal translation of its name just means such pants.
My current host family took me there two weeks ago and I must admit the trip turned out to be brilliant because that town is so charming. All the buildings are decorated in a similar style, streets are paved, gardens well kept, even the street lamps are stylish! Even a small detail like the weather, which wasn't good this time - it was gloomy and dreary, didn't destroy my positive impression of the stroll. However, there were a few flashes of sunshine so I had time to fall in love with that place and reckon I could live there one day.

London Borough of Merton

W czasie tegorocznych rozgrywek turnieju tenisowego w Wimbledon, pomyślałam, że to świetna okazja odwiedzenia gminy Merton i pooddychania spoconą, pełną tenisowych piłeczek, atmosferą.

During the tennis tournament in Wimbledon this year, I thought it could be a great opportunity to visit the tennis village in the borough of Merton. I wanted to savour the sweaty, full of tennis balls, atmosphere. If you want to see the games, you can not only buy a ticket, but also queue up for free entry but this usually is a very time-consuming way as the queues are very very long. That's why, the walk around the area had to be sufficient for me. While strolling, I noticed loads of green-purple banners which are the traditional colours of the tournament. Oh, and I even saw a gold mailbox and no, it's not weird. It's a way the Royal Mail honoured all British gold medalists of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which took place in London in 2012. The one next to the Wimbledon courts honours Andy Murray's gold medal in tennis at the Olympics. The interesting thing is that he also won the tournament this year, the same one I was infected by its atmosphere.

Update #1

Ta seria wpisów trwa i potrwa jeszcze przez parę tygodni, a następnie zacznę pokazywać wam zdjęcia z miejsca, w którym mieszkam obecnie.
Pozdrawiam! :)

Fanfares, please, it's time to start a hundredth post on my blog! That's why a special update of a few issues arrives. As you may know or not, from September 2012 to August 2013 I lived (and worked as an au pair) in London, which gave me 11 beautiful months in that wonderful city. Without a doubt, that was the best time of my life so far. Besides loads of great memories, I took hundreds of photos. To be more specific, I have thousands of pictures and I'm going to to share some with you. I just want to boast about the amount of places I visited, how cheeky am I!
This series of entries is going on and will continue for a few weeks. After that I'll show you something about the placeI live in now. That is Amsterdam, yay! I postponed my start of studying for one year once again so from the beginning of November I work here as an au pair but when I'm off duty I'm exploring another European city. Stay tuned! :)

The doors of London

A teraz do boju! Zacznę od najbardziej patriotycznych drzwi jakie widziałam:

A special group of the pictures arrived here today. I was literally hunting for them for a few long weeks! May I present you my photos of the doors of London. I noticed that Londoners adore unusual front doors, as if that's their method to express themselves. I saw few classic black or brown doors but London is truly dominated by the bright, colourful and even patterned doorways.
But show must go on so I'll start with the most patriotic door I've ever seen:

It's something classical now but still quite colourful:

As I mentioned, you can see dark doors from time to time; the one on the left is from the Bank of England where they haven't chosen the unusually-coloured door but kept classy black, fine, they're forgiven.

There are doors from Cambridge and Brighton below - a proof not only Londoners love colours

A teraz przyszedł czas na drzwi z okolic Brick Lane, gdzie oprócz takich skarbów, można znaleźć różnego rodzaju graffiti, które większej części jest tubro mega świetne, polecam zobaczyć!

It's high time for my haul from Brick Lane's neighbourhood where you can find more of such treasures, there are also a lot of graffiti paintings which you should see yourself!

No i napiszcie, jakie są wasze wymarzone drzwi w domu/mieszkaniu.

Let me show you the most precious door I have seen, not only because of the magnetic colour but also because of the message above. So love each other and visit my blog! Don't forget to comment below what your dreamt door look like.

Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames

Uwaga, dzisiejszy post sponsoruje sztuka! A tak dokładniej rządek dwunastu przewróconych jak domino budek w ramach instalacji "Out of Order" Davida Macha.

Attention, the art is sponsoring the upcoming post today! What's more, it's modern art. It has all started on a sunny summer morning when I dashed through the borough of Kingston in a one-horse open sleigh. While speeding, I saw those poor, wrecked red phone boxes. To be more specific, it was a row of twelve falling over phone boxes which create an art installation called Out of Order by David Mach. As you can easily guess, they are not usable any more. What's interesting, they are kind of destroyed because of the mature age reasons but they have no traces of vandalism, how cool is that! Are the phone boxes respected so much by locals?

London Borough of Ealing

Dziś kolejna dzielnica mniej turystyczna, to i atrakcja mniej znana i odwiedzana.

It's time for the next borough, folks. This time I'll show you a less tourist area so the attraction isn't that well-known by crowds. One day I decided to set off from the land of charming bay windows to the eastern Ealing full of brick-built block. Within the Ealing borough, there is a tiny Museum of Asian Music, where I dropped by with a visit. To my astonishment, I wasn't expected at all! The modernization of the museum was taking place but still the friendly staff let me in. I could see the exhibits, but interactive displays weren't working due to works on them. Anyway, it was a very nice experience to see those kind-of-weird instruments, I wish I could see them making sounds.

London Borough of Hillingdon

There is so much going on lately, hence I'm writing that very short post about the borough of Hillingdon. I admit that I went there quickly a couple of days before I left London so my plan wasn't too ambitious at all. To be honest, I had to force myself to find something there. That's why I chose an absolute doddle - the park in Eastcote village, where I could do nothing in a pleasant area. I often mention sweet doing nothing nowadays - London is a place with lots of parks, so it's a perfect place to do that, really. What else, there was a house once in that park, which is gone now, so the park is still quiet and charming.

London Borough of Haringey

Forgive me, please, my little blogging gap, believe it or not, nasty cold that goes with headache is not creativity's best friend. Let's finish this moaning right now, it's time for a little trip to London Borough of Harningey, where I sadly spent little time, but a really productive time. I also know now that if I ever visit London again, I will definitely visit that area again. I should probably explain what is so charming about the place, well...I visited Muswell Hill Broadway, the main street of the area which is full of those charming town houses and those small shops. And what's cool, if you step into the proper side road, the visitor will have an unique chance to see a stunning view - the skyline of London!
DSCF0547a

After a quick visit to the Broadway and loads of delights over the lovely views, I set off towards Alexandra Park where I also got to the Alexandra Palace. The cool fact is that the palace, although it has a noble name, is not a place for important people to live, but only a building where many fairs take place. The park is the ideal place for a typical doing-nothing-on-Saturday. It's full of beautifully green lawns which ask you to picnic on them, lay down in a sun or exercise a little bit or all you can do is to watch the skyline of London again.

London Borough of Enfield

There is no better thing to do on Saturday morning than doing nothing in a quiet, peaceful place. This is why, on one of the May mornings - I know I have a terrible delays on my blog, I went to Forty Hall in borough of Enfield, which is a lovely mansion house. What's more interesting, there is a lovely park around the mansion, full of quiet narrow lanes, ideal for stopping and reading a book. I think the only disadvantage of this place is the fact it's far from the bus stop or a station, so it's not easy to reach. Although maybe this is the reason why there are no tourists there and it's an ideal place to relax?

I wonder that has that poor goat done that they called the street with its name.

The thing that Enfield is famous of is a cash machine! It's not a random machine, though. It is the first ATM ever in the whole wide world! How cool is that!

London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham

Przyznajcie jednak sami, że most ładny.

Let me confess that I cut corners on my visit in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham because the place of interest I chose wasn't a show-off at all. As an excuse, I can only say that nothing I couldn't find anything interesting in this area. So I went for a walk one day and got to the Hammersmith Bridge, which is my proof today of visit in this borough. I must admit that the bridge is really nice. And by the way, it's worth strolling along the River Thames banks and see the bridges of London, honestly. There are some bridges that are really beautiful and worth seeing, I know what I'm saying. It's a pity that water in the River Thames is not that clear, because I could take a risk and say that I would like to live in a charming house on this river banks one day.
