Leap day!

Merhaba (Hello in Turkish) I can't miss such an opportunity to add new post at leap day! It occurs every four years so it's very special date today! :D
But let's move on...The weather is great here last days...it's sunny and quite warm...I can feel the spring! :D
That's why I decided to show you some sunny postcards to carry on that optimistic atmosphere :)
I'll start with a postcard from Kirsehir - I received it thanks to Postcrossing:

I didn't get any more postcards from Turkey through Postcrossing. However, that country was very popular holiday destination among my family and friends so I've got 3 more Turkish postcards to show you! :D

That one is from Kemer - a seaside resort on the Turkish Riviera:

I got the following one from Marmaris which is also located on Turkish Riviera:

And the last one is from my friend who visited Turkey a few years ago:

That is my favourite postcard from Turkey because it really shows beauty of Turkey! I hope I will visit that country one day...

Greetings,

Give me some sunshine

Hello! I suffer from cold nowadays because of winter here! That's why I decided to add posts about postcards from "warmer" countries to cheer myself up a bit! :D
I've chosen Tunisia which is situated on the Mediterranean coast- lucky them! :D
First postcard comes from Monastir and presents Habib Bourguiba's mausoleum (He was the first President of the Republic of Tunisia)

Two following postcards are from Sousse which is very popular Tunisian seaside resort currently:

The last postcard makes me feel so optimistic! I hope I will see such a landscape personally one day! :)
Keep warm,
Karolina :)

Cieszyn, Silesia, Poland

Hello! Welcome to February! It's so cold here last days! I'm freezing and dreaming of spring! :D
That's why this post will reminisce warmer times! I'd like to show you some photos from my trip to Cieszyn which took place on 22th of May 2009. That one-day trip was organised by my Art teacher. Our main goal was to see Art Department (of Silesian University) students works' exhibition. Obviously, we also rambled around Cieszyn.
Firstly, I will show you some photos from the University:

Notice that 3D bed - it really sticked out of wall!

And now it's turn for the town!
View from Góra Zamkowa:

These buildings over the stream are regard as local Venice :)

Studnia Trzech Braci (Three Brothers' Well)
According to the legend it's a place
where three brothers (Cieszyn founders) met.

St. Nicholas church
I think it's the most popular example of
romanesque architecture in Poland! :D
A photo of that rotunda can be found on 20 zloty banknote.

It was very warm, sunny day! I wish it was so warm now, haha! :)
I wish you a lot of warmth!
Greetings,
Karolina :)

香港 - Hong Kong

Nihao,
I'm going to tell you about superb exchange I took part in last year. I've got friend in Hong Kong who offered to make an exchange of sweets. I'm sending some Polish sweets and she's sending me some Chinese. I'll show you results of that event now.
This is a letter (I've hidden main content of my letter) and sweets I sent to Hong Kong:

And this is what I got from Hong Kong:

I also got lollipops but I haven't got picture of them :(
That's a proof that it really came from Hong Kong:

This is last post about sweets from abroad. But when I start travelling, I will have more! :D
Greetings,

日本 - Japan

Konnichiwa,
There are a lof of summing-ups of the year on the blogs nowadays. I won't do that - I will reminisce about my biggest adventure of 2011.
Once upon a time head master of local community centre came to my school and offered a one-way exchange - willing students could host girls from Japanese choir from Nagoya which came to Poland for a few concerts. It was planned for the end of the March.
I've decided to host two girls: Miyu and Chihiro.

On one of the concerts they were singing in the tradidtional clothing called yukata:

That picture was taken during the concert in the church on the last day of their stay in my town:

They also brought some gifts for me and my family - you can see some of them:

But also they gave us some Japanese snacks:

My parents had a lof of fun with them too. My parents became Japanese girls' parents for those 4 days. It's a custom that when the Japanese go to foreign house, friends' parents become their parents - so Miyu and Chihiro used to call my parents "mum" and "dad" which created very positive and familiar atmosphere! :)

Moreover, they have inspired me to choosing the studies. I've spent great time with them, learned some interesting things about they culture and customs. I'd like to study English with Japanese at the university next year because of my Japanese guests :)

I wish you a lof of inspiration and creativity in the New Year! :)
Good luck,
Karolina :)

The third postcard which was bought in Hong Kong shows a quote from Forest Gump:

And the last one which I got on Tuesday is a card for Christmas! :)

Dragon

Hello,
Today I'd like to tell you about an action I have joined. I've read on Postcrossing's blog about Singapore Philatelic Museum's request. They are asking people around the world to send them a postcard with dragon. According to Chinese calendar 2012 year it's year of dragon.
I've sent a postcard to them. Here you can see it:
I think Smok Wawelski is the most famous dragon in Poland.
If you want to join that action, here you can read more.

Greetings, Karolina :)
