Kołobrzeg

Undoubtedly, autumn is coming slowly. It's right time to look back on summer time when I went to Polish seaside. I went to Kołobrzeg at the end of August. All I wanted was to visit my Internet pen friend who I know for 8 years already and haven't' met her until this year. It was a very inspiring, edifying and super funny meeting. Oh, I breathed in some air full of iodine too. What's more, the holiday season is nearly finished at the end of September so I could easily delight in empty beaches, relax in a peaceful atmosphere and breath in all of the healthy air. My little trip gave me a satisfying rest because of the great weather and brilliant company.

Jesień powoli zaczyna doskwierać, więc to dobry moment na wspomnienie lata i mojego wyjazdu na nadmorską przygodę, ahoj. Pod koniec sierpnia w końcu wybrałam się do Kołobrzegu, by spotkać się z moją dotychczas internetową znajomą, z którą utrzymywałam kontakt od 8 lat, a dopiero teraz miałyśmy okazję się zobaczyć i było mega super fajnie. A no i też powdychałam powietrze wypełnione jodem. Koniec sierpnia to już prawie koniec sezonu, więc mogłam rozkoszować się pustymi plażami, spokojnie wypoczywać i wdychać całe to świeże powietrze. Pogoda i towarzystwo dopisały, a nawet tak krótki wyjazd był miłą odskocznią.








Besides pure tanning time on a beach, which I didn't have at all, I walked so so much around the city with my friend. We had a little trip to the local harbour and many parks. I saw local made-out-of-stone turtle, lighthouse. The funniest thing was a brine spring where citizens take water from to make pickles!

Oprócz samego siedzenia na plaży, którego było na prawdę mało, pobujałam się dużo po mieście razem ze znajomą. Zrobiłyśmy wycieczkę do portu, wielu parków, zobaczyłam kołobrzeskiego żółwia, latarnię, a nawet źródełko z solanką, z którego mieszkańcy pobierają wodę do kiszenia ogórków!



















Moreover, we went to the observation decks located on the 12th floor in one of the holiday resorts in order to check how far we can see the sea. The second photo can proven that we went for a really tiring bike journey which turned out to be bad for our bodies. However, we rode for over 20 kilometres that day which was brilliant, wasn't it.

Wspięłyśmy się również na jeden z tarasów widokowych na 12. piętrze jednego z ośrodków wczasowych i sprawdziłyśmy jak daleko nasz wzrok sięga, co obrazuje pierwsze zdjęcie poniżej, drugie zaś jest dowodem, że wybrałyśmy się na bardzo męczącą wycieczkę rowerową, która okazała się zgubna dla naszych organizmów. No ale bądź, co bądź przejechałyśmy ponad 20 kilometrów!




I also met my befriended models - seagulls, they told me to send their love to all my readers.

Spotkałam się również z moimi zaprzyjaźnionymi modelkami - mewami, kazały pozdrowić wszystkich czytelników.




It's nearly the end of my seaside story so it's a good moment to show you the most beautiful sandcastle in the world you have ever seen. There is no better place to play with sand than a beach full of wet sand. In the first photo below you can see the outstanding architectural masterpiece made my me. While the second photo below depicts an average, random, casual sandcastle I saw while wandering around the beach. It's not that brilliant as mine. You have to admit it.

Powoli zbliżam się do końca mojej relacji, więc to dobry moment na zaprezentowanie najpiękniejszego zamku z piasku na świecie i jego marnej podróbki. Nie ma lepszego miejsca na zabawę piaskiem niż nadmorska plaża pełna mokrego piasku, dlatego też pierwsze zdjęcie poniżej pokazuje moje wybitne dzieło architektoniczne. Zaś drugie zdjęcie ukazuje przeciętny zamek, który zobaczyłam podczas spaceru po plaży, ale on nie dorasta mojemu zamczysku do pięt. Sami przyznajcie.




I'm about to finish my post with some lovely photos to cheer everybody up. My friend and I went to marvel at the setting sun romantically one evening. I think I could live at the seaside for such views, however, loads of tourists are not encouraging.

A na zakończenie, na poprawę humoru, zostawiłam takie oto widoczki z zachodu słońca, który romantycznie popodziwiałam ze znajomą. Dla takich widoków mogłabym mieszkać nad morzem, bo jakoś tabuny turystów co roku mnie nie przekonują.

Foodie in Poznań

I want to confess that I adore exploring new tastes, food. It also happened in Poznań where I tried loads of delicious food, some of them were even home made! :D But don't delight too quickly, I will introduce my "food star" later!

 we decided to bake such cookies from puff pasty and fresh raspberries:

those waffles are also our home made creation in one of the evenings :D

 it wasn't my first meal in Asian restaurant so I know something about
"eastern tastes" and I really think that the quality and taste of that dish was amazing!

we also bumped into a salads bar where I had really tasty and quite unusual
(because of combination of eggs, beetroots, sweetcorn and smoked chicken) salad

Ladies and gentlemen - rogal świętomarciński (Saint Martin's croissant). It's a local, traditional croissant made of white poppy, baked on 11 November, on St. Martin's Day. However, the croissants are probably only eaten by local people in November, they're available in some bakeries. There are a lot of tourists who come to Poznań during entire year and want to try them (even me).

Now it's time to move on. I'm taking you on a market square in Poznań. I've already showed you the town hall here. Now it's time to present lovely, charming tenement houses around:

there were always some people playing with that splashing water or chilling themselves: 

Those very colourful tenement houses on the left are as narrow as one-colour-area. They were built in 16th century and were possessed by poorer merchants. In those arcades, they had their stalls where fish, candles, torches and salt were being sold. Unfortunately, they were destroyed during II World War but rebuilt in Renaissance style.

So, that's all about my trip to Poznań! I hope you enjoyed the views and  maybe will visit this city one day :) it's totally worth-seeing :)

Next part of holidays adventures!

Wow! Last time I posted something was 10 days ago - lazy me! I'm going to show you next part of places I saw during my stay in Poznań. At the beginning I should mention that I was already in Poznań in 2010 so some places I saw this year I also saw during my first trip to Poznań. And again, I'm writing "we" because I was there with my friends.
However, I also visited places I haven't seen before. Ostrów Tumski is one of such places. It is an island located almost in the city centre on which the Cathedral is located. The Cathedral is a place where first rulers of Poland were buried. Moreover, it was probably a place where first ruler of Poland was christened and Poland became Christian country.

Now we're moving to a part of Poznań I already saw in the past. Firstly, we bumped into Stary Marych - a monument of a radio play character who is a symbol of a local slang:

We poped into that park for a while to check if my favourite fountain is working. Last time I was there, it wasn't lauched [you can check it here] so this time a man with umbrella has a meaning! :D

In Poznań, there is one of the oldest zoos in Poland. I like that zoo because of having ring-tailed lemurs which this time were hidden in their shelter. Anyway, we had a chance to meet this charming alpaca which really enjoyed a conversation with us:

We've seen it! We've seen it! It may be considered almost as a historical bus! It's a brand of bus of my parents' youth. It was called "cucumber" because of sleek, round shape:
